Investing in the right “bank”
Opportunity is described as a man with wings with his pony tail tied in the front. When he’s there approaching you you have a chance to still grab him, but once he passes he’s gone.
You only live your life once. Once you go through today, you will never get the chance to re-live it. God gave you a mission in life, a mission that you can only accomplish while in our earthen vessels. And God’s will for us is that we live for our purpose.
The devil on the other hand is crafty in his work. Not only does he work on tempting you to sin, but he’s also very busy at making you waste your life. Sometimes it comes in the form of everyday mundane things. Sometimes it comes in the form of things that seem so important. Sometimes it’s outright a waste of time.
Working in the hotel industry I’ve come to accept my fate of working an average of 11 hours, plus at least 2 hours traveling daily, leaving me with at most 7 hours of sleep. Thus leaving me with 4 hours of me-time which also includes time for house chores, taking a bath, getting ready for work, eating (if i have time), and time with the Lord. I remember back when I was waiting on the Lord for a job I had all the time in the world to work on mu Tumblr ministry. Now I think I only get to post 2-3 times a week!
It’s not wrong to work hard to earn a living. It’s a problem though if you forget to MAKE time for things that matters. If satan can get you to waste so many hours a day, he can eventually lead you to a wasted life full of wasted opportunities. Sometimes we’re so focused on building our dreams that when we look closely at it we see a self-centered ambition lacking substance or purpose other than self-satisfaction.
We forget that life is not really about us. We forget that the world is so much more bigger than ourselves.
