Anonymous asked: Hello! Was the Great Commission was every Christians duty? In our church, we are asked to make disciples. I know for myself that I am not yet ready for the responsibilities of being a leader. I am not that equipped to teach the Gospel and I still need to learn. I am worried that I am not good enough. And now, I really felt pressured and obliged to do it. I don't know what to do.
Hi Anon; yes the great commission is directed to ALL the followers of Christ. But of course to take on the responsibility to disciple you must be ready and equipped. It’s our responsibility to learn as much as we can before we actually step up. God prepared Joseph for years as a slave, a prisoner, until finally he was ready to be the ruler of Egypt, second only to pharaoh. Moses was born and raised with a good educational background, but God brought him out of Egypt first to be a shepherd and a nomad for so many years before He called him to lead His people out of Egypt. In the end it is God’s timing that matters not the pressure of opinions from people or from yourself. Yes we are all called to disciple, but I want to encourage you not to feel pressured to be a discipler now… In God’s perfect timing, when He has moulded your character to be more like His :) So keep praying, keep growing, keep reading your Bible, keep in fellowship with the Lord and don’t lose hope or feel pressured. God’s got you, and He will use you mightily in His own perfect ways :)
