Hosanna!

Hi I'm Dj... you can call me Dorothy too haha :) This is my blog for the Lord. It's named hosanna in the highest simply coz it comes from my favorite song :)

I am a follower of Jesus. A sinner saved by grace. A woman made holy and righteous by the blood of my Savior.

I love photography (though i'm just starting out), I love music and serve as a worship leader in our church. I love sunsets and stars. And I am forever amazed by the beauty that the Lord has made.

This blog is both a means of expression and a ministry to encourage. I hope you are blessed :) Praise be to God alone :)

Disclaimer: The Bible is the Truth. I love to write notes, however I CHALLENGE YOU first to test and approve even the things I write here. Also understand that there is a difference between EXPLICIT BIBLICAL TRUTH from a personal conviction or application of the truth.

Running Thoughts

Yesterday I went jogging around my school campus since I don’t have work during the holiday. And I just had a few thoughts I wanted to put down in writing.

The thing about jogging is when you feel like stopping you can stop running and just walk…but if you set your mind on pushing yourself you will be surprised on just how far you can actually go.

It’s practically the same with our walk in the Christian life. We run a race and yes there will be that strain-but it is always a choice if we will push on or slow down. Paul encourages us in Philippians 3:13-14 to strain towards what is ahead and to press on towards the goal. It is a conscious decision that we have to make daily. Is not Christ worth pursuing daily?

When running what tires me is the thought of how much further I need to go. So usually what I do is I give myself “small goals” to reach. First I aim for the next speed bump on the road, once I get past it I push myself to go for the next speed bump… and the next… and the next… and eventually when I finish one whole round.

Sometimes as a Christian we feel so overwhelmed with how far we are to being Christ-like. Also the thing about our calling is we do not really know how much further we have to run—-and this uncertainty makes us complacent at times. But you have to give yourself “small” goals to keep reaching and keep increasing it as you keep growing. You don’t become 100% Christ-like overnight so you have to really set your mind on growing DAILY.

So yeah, It’s really also a reminder for myself. NOT to get so caught up in my work life and to make sure I CONSCIOUSLY PURSUE GOD.
