1. i was looking for the gtech pen i got from li for Christmas, and i realized it’s not with me cause my orgmate borrowed it. no idea if she still has it… usually pens not returned are considered lost almost always for me. (losing things that weren’t meant to be lost)
2. i gave away the pencil case i bought for myself for white elephant. went to the mall today to buy it for myself——but it’s out of stock. i just feel bad cause there are those rare things that “call out to you” and it’s just that i can’t have it anymore. (i owned it, but just for a moment, and it was my choice to give it up.)
3. another blouse my friend and i wanted to buy, which is no longer available in Pop Culture . (losing what you never had)
sometimes i wish i wasn’t like this. less of the complexity. If maybe i was just an invisble girl who people just passed by. who wasn’t anything near spectacular. wasn’t anything stunning. was no way talented. just timid and quiet in one corner. maybe that way i’d see if someone would really see me while i was invisible.
how can i say “you saw me when i was inivisble” when i don’t really know what it means to BE invisible… . .
"You know, Nick, there's been one thing that's been eatin' at me since I got here. That naughty-nice list that you got? There's no naughty kids, Nick. They're all good kids. Some of 'em are scared and some of 'em don't feel listened to. Some of 'em had some pretty tough breaks, too. But every kid deserves a present on Christmas." --Fred Claus
I saw Fred Claus on HBO today and there was this scene where Fred just stamped every kid’s profile “NICE”. and it reminds me of how God sees us in Christ. He doesn’t look at how we’ve messed up in the past, or what stupid things we’ve done. all He sees is Jesus. and that we are clean. simply because of what Christ has done.
My classmates were persuading me to just join them for lunch and not go the class room evangelism i agreed to go to. But i said no to them. On my way to eh CE i ran into a women, she stopped me and asked if i could give 5 minutes of my time.
I thought “ah a Christian trying to share the gospel to me” so i answered “ah thanks for that but i’m on my way to a class to evangelize too, God bless” but then i got startled when she kept asking “do you celebrate the passover?” so thinking it was a good opportunity to share the gospel to her, i decided to listen.
She opened her bible to exodus and read about the passover, and pointed to the passage on celebrating the passover and that it should be done ONCE a year. and then went to the passage about the passover and since Jesus has his last supper during the passover she said we should celebrate the passover to get salvation. quoting many verses like if we love God we should obey God(1 John 5:3), and about eating the flesh and drinking the blood to be saved (john 6:53) and more verses //though i still wasn’t convinced of course haha//
I shared the gospel to her, explaining grace and how we don’t need to do something to be saved but have faith in God. i pointed her to some verses like the one in ephesians 2:8 that we are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH, and not works, and in hebrews 11:6 that it’s impossible to please God without faith, and that explained that the passover is for the jews really and we dont do it cause of Jesus as the ultimate sarcifice, that we have the Lord’s supper (which she keeps contradicting that it’s not the Lord’s supper… it’s the passover) but at any rate, i texted her saying that Jesus chose the passover to have his last supper because he wanted to show that He was the ultimate lamb that would pay for all our sins. And that the passover was meant for the jews, but with what Jesus did, He did it for all men jew and gentile alike. I pointed out that verse in galatians. explained also how it is not necessary for the gentiles to be circumcised like the jews, because we are not justified by the law but by faith.
It was a LONG discussion, in the end i got her number and agreed to meet up with her again to talk. woo go GOD. haha, and she left me with two statements it’s wrong to celebrate the birth of Christ on december 25 and it’s wrong that we go to church on Sundays.
I told her we celebrate the the BIRTH of Christ, NOT the date itself. and it is NOT a sin that we take out a time from the year to remember the birth of Christ. And i asked our youth pastor about the sunday worship and he said we have church on sunday cause Jesus was resurrected on a sunday (matthew 28:1 “after the sabbath”), so we celebrate His resurrection every time we go to church.
Go GOD. Scary stuff to engage in such conversations, but go God. haha :) i do this with Your power and might and not my own.
After the CE we had lunch, then played Left for dead 2 hooorah haha. :P
Seriously, it’s funny how God keeps putting me in positions where I have to really explain what i believe in. woo go apologetics. Wonder what direction God’s calling me ?
